Upper Blepharoplasty: Stop Looking Tired

"I always look tired." "My eyelids feel so heavy." These are the most common complaints I hear from patients seeking upper blepharoplasty. The good news? You don't have to live with it.

The Three-Part Evaluation

Before recommending upper eyelid surgery, I evaluate three critical factors:

1. Brow Position

First, I assess your brow position. I manually reposition the brow to see if it relieves that heavy feeling. Sometimes a brow lift is all you need—not eyelid surgery at all.

2. Dermatochalasis (Excess Skin)

Many patients have dermatochalasis—excess upper eyelid skin that hoods over the eye. This creates that heavy, tired appearance and can even obstruct vision in severe cases.

3. Levator Function (Ptosis Check)

I evaluate your levator muscle—your ability to lift the eyelid. Does your eyelid rest in the normal position? Does it move properly? If your eyelid sits too low, that's called ptosis, and it requires a different surgical approach.

The Solution

Upper blepharoplasty removes excess skin through a precisely placed incision in your natural eyelid crease. The scar heals virtually invisibly, and results are long-lasting.

You Don't Have to Look Tired

That heavy, tired feeling isn't something you have to accept. Upper blepharoplasty can be transformative, giving you alert, refreshed eyes that match how you feel inside.
