Submental liposuction, also known as chin liposuction or neck liposuction, is a cosmetic procedure designed to remove stubborn pockets of fat from beneath the chin. This excess fat, often referred to as a "double chin," can be difficult to eliminate through diet and exercise alone. Submental liposuction offers a solution for those seeking a more defined and youthful-looking neck and jawline.

The procedure is typically performed under local anesthesia, ensuring the patient is comfortable throughout the process. - Incisions
The surgeon makes small, inconspicuous incisions beneath the chin and behind the ears to access the fat deposits. - Fat removal
A thin, hollow tube called a cannula is inserted through the incisions. The surgeon moves the cannula back and forth to break up the fat cells and suction them out using a vacuum-like device attached to the cannula. - Sculpting
The surgeon carefully sculpts the area to create a more defined jawline and neck contour, ensuring a natural-looking result. - Closure
The incisions are closed using sutures, and a compression garment is placed around the treatment area to minimize swelling and support the skin as it adapts to the new contours.After the procedure, patients may experience some swelling, bruising, and discomfort, which can be managed with pain medication and cold compresses. Most patients can return to work and normal activities within a week, although strenuous exercise should be avoided for several weeks. The final results of submental liposuction will become apparent once the swelling has subsided, typically within several months.
