A thigh lift is a surgical procedure that involves the removal of excess skin and fat from the thighs. Fat on the outside of the thigh can be removed with liposuction and excess skin and fat can be removed from the inside of the thigh. This procedure is designed to help patients achieve smoother, more toned thighs and a more proportionate overall appearance.

This procedure is often covered by insurance.

Ideal Candidates for Thigh Lift

Ideal candidates for a thigh lift are individuals who are in good general health, maintain a stable weight, and have excess soft tissue along the inner or outer thigh region. Frequently, patients have experienced significant weight loss and resultant excess skin and fat deposits.

The Steps of Thigh Lift

Here’s what you can expect from Thigh Lift. Each patient is unique, and we’ll discuss the particulars of your procedure during your consultation.

  1. Anesthesia
‍General anesthesia is administered for patient comfort.
  2. Incision
‍The incision runs along the inner thigh to conceal it maximally. The length of the incision depends on where the excess skin and fat terminates. It may need to be extended along the groin crease, patient depending. There are additional small, discrete incisions near any areas that need liposuction.
  3. Removal of excess skin and fat
‍Liposuction is performed first. Once the thigh is deflated, the excess skin and fat are removed from the underlying tissue using surgical techniques specific to the thigh area. Skin is then pulled taut and sutured into place.
  4. Closure
‍Sutures are used to close the incisions, which may be layered deep within the tissue to help form and support the newly shaped contours.
