Teach Me Brow Lift - Brow Position

Understanding Ideal Brow Position with Dr. CJ Conlon

The Foundation of Brow Aesthetics

Before considering a brow lift, it's essential to understand where the brow should naturally sit. The ideal position differs significantly between males and females.

Female Brow Position:

  • Should rest approximately one centimeter above the orbital rim (the bony ridge around the eye)
  • Features a peak that aligns with the outer edge of the iris (the colored part of the eye)

Male Brow Position:

  • Should sit on the orbital rim
  • Maintains a straighter appearance without significant peaking

Common Brow Concerns

Dr. Conlon sees patients with two primary complaints:

  1. The "Scowling" Look - When the middle portion of the brow drops too low, patients appear angry or stern even when they're not
  2. The "Tired" Appearance - When the lateral (outer) brow descends, it creates a perpetually exhausted look

What's Next?

Understanding your brow's current position versus its ideal placement is the first step. In Part 2, Dr. Conlon will discuss the techniques and procedures used to correct these concerns and restore a more youthful, natural brow position.
