Decrease wound complications in back surgery with the latest Spino-Plastic techniques

Spino-plastic reconstruction is a cutting edge field of surgery that marries the soft tissue reconstructive techniques of plastic surgery with the tenets of spine surgery. The risk of complications with spine surgery are well known to providers and patients alike and those risks can be decreased with reinforcing the spinal hardware and incisions with well-vascularized tissue. Spino-plastic surgery is often utilized in revision cases, multi-level fusions, and previous infections, however it can be utilized proactively to decrease the incidence of major complications.
Spinal reconstruction surgery may be recommended for patients who have suffered major complications, such as infection, hardware exposure, hardware failure, or wound dehiscence, or prophylactically for patients who are at high risk for such complications.
